This is not inclusive of any necessary extractions or local bone augmentation if required. 2 implants is the absolute minimum number of implants needed to support a lower overdenture. With 2 implants the denture will be very secure, and will not move in the vertical direction, there may however be slight backward and forward rocking of the prosthesis. This treatment is recommended mainly for patients who have been without teeth for many years, and have very low remaining bone levels. If block bone grafting is not desirable this is a good alternative to hold a lower overdenture in place.

3 implants & 3 ball abutments and full lower overdenture

This is not inclusive of any necessary extractions or local bone augmentation if required. 3 implants will allow support to a lower overdenture, and will secure it firmly to the arch. There will be no backwards and forwards rocking with 3 implants. This is a cheaper alternative to a fixed prosthesis in the lower arch. You can eat foods found in a normal diet. The prosthesis is not fixed, so must be removed for 2 minutes a day for cleaning.

Maxillary Sinus lift (per side)

This is a surgical procedure carried out under local anaesthetic, using synthetic bone to increase bone height in the maxilla (upper jaw bone). Increasing bone height is sometimes necessary in order to place implants. The procedure is carried out by Professor Coulthard.

Rocky Mountain bone augmentation (per vial)

This is a synthetic bone product sometimes required for small areas of bone grafting around implant sites to fill in any voids

Iliac Crest bone graft

This is a surgical procedure done under general anaesthesia in a hospital environment. It is used to increase bone width, height and volume in large areas, where implants cannot be placed due to insufficient bone levels.

Surgical extraction (bone preserving) per tooth

Extraction of a tooth or root. This is a minimally invasive procedure that removes teeth carefully without damaging surrounding jaw bone. Implant placement is often indicated immediately after extraction into the socket.
