What we do
Being a dedicated dental implant centre, our work is focused exclusively on dental implant treatment solutions these can be categorized into two basic subdivisions:
Simple Implantology
Simple Implantology is defined as implant correction in an otherwise healthy mouth with most of the dentition and bone bone volume intact.
Single implant and crown
2 implants and 3 Unit Bridge
complex Implantology
Complex Implantology is defined as implant correction in an otherwise unhealthy mouth with advanced tooth degeneration and bone loss
Full arch correction with EvoHybrid Bridge using ‘same day smile’ product
Teaching

We are a teaching centre for The University of Manchester Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and MSc courses in Dental Implantology. Postgraduate dentists registered on the university courses attend Evodental for some of their clinical component teaching.

Dr Vijay BDS
Dr R P Vijayanarayanan (known as Dr Vijay)
Clinical Director and Principal Dental Surgeon
Evolution Dental Group
Dr Vijay qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1994. He has since run several general practices and founded the Evolution Dental Group in 1998. He has attended many postgraduate courses in all aspects of Implant dentistry both in the UK and abroad. He has been placing implants since 1999 and completed a 1 year course in Implantology in 2004 based in London and Paris.
He launched Evodental in 2007 as a clinic limited to offering dental implant solutions and advanced oral reconstruction only. Outside work he has two young daughters that keep him busy and is a football fanatic!
Professor P Coulthard BDS, MFGDP (UK), MDS, FDSRCS, FDS (OS) RCS, PhD
Clinical Director
Professor Paul Coulthard acts as a consultant for Evodental to ensure the highest standards of clinical care that are ethical and research evidence-based.
Professor Coulthard is an experienced oral surgeon and dental implant surgeon. He is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Manchester and Honorary Consultant Oral Surgeon at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Professor Coulthard has an international reputation and has published an impressive number of scientific articles. He lectures regularly around the world.
Professor Coulthard initially undertook General Clinical Training as a General Dental Practitioner. This was followed by Basic Surgical Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also training in Anaesthesia. He then undertook Higher Surgical Training in Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and this training included surgery of the mouth; surgery for facial injuries and fractures; surgery for facial disfigurement; and surgery of the salivary glands and jaw joint. He has a special interest in bone graft and advanced oral implant surgery.
Professor Coulthard is a committed undergraduate and postgraduate teacher. He was Director of Graduate Education at the School of Dentistry and introduced the MSc degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Manchester amongst other new programmes. Professor Coulthard is principal author of a popular textbook and external examiner at a number of other UK universities. He is a Member of the Institute of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Alongside surgical training, Professor Coulthard undertook research training leading to the award of two higher university degrees: an MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a PhD in Neuroscience. He has an international research reputation in the fields of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Implantology, and the Control of Pain and Anxiety. He has been principal investigator for many clinical trials and has published many scientific reviews providing clinical evidence for changing practice. He is an Editor with the Cochrane Oral Health Group, and has more than 130 published scientific papers. Professor Coulthard is on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Surgery and is associate editor for the journal Oral Surgery.
He is President of the Anaesthesiology Group of the International Association of Dental Research.
Dr Pachter BDS
Resident clinician Evodental
Dr Daniel Pachter graduated from The University of Manchester in 2007. After completion of vocational training in an NHS general dental practice, he moved to Evodental to pursue his interest in dental implantology and oral reconstruction.
Dr Pachter’s main passion and responsibility is for the prostheses that are used in implant reconstructions. Since his appointment as Resident Clinician he has also been developing his surgical clinical skills with Evodental training and attendance at external postgraduate courses.
Outside interests include being a football fan and follower of Everton FC, keeping fit and cooking.
Steve O’Brien
Managing Director
Stephen O’Brien Qualified in Liverpool in 1984 and has over 20 years experience in the banking sectors as a business manager. He joined Evolution in 2007 to oversee the development of the company into a leading player in the provision of world class patient’s care and dental implant services.
Zoe Walmsley NEBDSA (University of Manchester)
Clinical Dental Nurse
Zoe Walmsley started training as a general dental nurse in 1989 and went on to obtain the National Certificate in Dental Surgery Assisting at the University of Manchester in 1991. She continued working in general dental practice and took up her current post as Clinical Dental Nurse at Evodental in 2007. Since then she has developed her dental nursing skills further and obtained significant experience as the principal nurse assisting Dr Vijay.
