Laura - EvoDental

I have been working as a dental nurse for 15 years, including the 4 years working at EvoDental. I took a different path to begin with and figured out that I wanted to be a dental nurse, through education and a job working as cabin crew.

Throughout my time at college and university, I had strong feelings towards a job that involved caring for people and travelling which lead me to progress into a job working as cabin crew. I enjoyed the travelling side to the job but most of all caring for my passengers and crew. I loved meeting new people on a daily basis, getting to know them and looking after them throughout my flights. Every day was different! Feeling that sense of pride that I have made this person feel special today, was a massive fulfilment and made my job so rewarding after every flight, doing something that I was so passionate about!

I started working as a dental nurse for the NHS which is where I qualified. I learned the roles and responsibilities of a dental nurse and also had that sense of achievement looking after my patients on a daily basis. I participated in many courses along the way, which helped me to continue my professional development from the beginning.

The time came when I felt that I could give more to people, which lead me to EvoDental. This was a changing point in my life. I could see how much I was helping people change their lives, in a different way than before, this was so much bigger and I knew then that I wanted to be a part of this team. Every day I get up and get to go to work knowing that we as a team, would be transforming somebody’s life that day. From meeting a patient at a clinical assessment to seeing that same patient four years down the line smiling at me, knowing that I helped them smile again with no fear, now that feeling is irreplaceable. It does not get better than that!

In my spare time I enjoy reading and participating in courses helping to expand my knowledge. Going to the gym is one of my favourite places to unwind and keep fit. I also like to travel and socialise with family and friends. My favourite places to travel to, to visit friends and family are Ireland, Ibiza and Australia. I have lots of amazing memories from these countries, with special people and I hope to make many more!
