If you’re researching ways to restore your smile, you’ve likely come across terms like single implants, All-on-4, or zirconia bridges. But not all dental implants are the same – and understanding the different types can help you make a more informed decision.
At EvoDental, we focus exclusively on full mouth dental implants, which are used to restore an entire upper or lower set of teeth using a fixed, non-removable bridge. While some dentists provide single or multiple implants, our expertise is in helping those who require full jaw restoration.
This guide will help you understand the most common types of dental implants, how they differ, and why EvoDental’s approach is designed for long-term results.
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the bone beneath the gum. It acts as a replacement for a missing tooth root and supports a crown, bridge, or full arch of teeth.
While many people associate implants with replacing a single tooth, there are several treatment approaches depending on the number of missing teeth, your oral health, and your goals.
1. Single Tooth Dental Implants
This is the most common and widely known implant type. A single titanium implant is placed where a tooth is missing, and a crown is fitted on top. This is ideal when only one tooth is missing, and the surrounding teeth are healthy.
Note: EvoDental does not offer single tooth implants. Our treatments are designed for patients who need to replace all or most of their teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
2. Multiple Implants (Bridge-Supported Implants)
If several teeth in a row are missing, a dental bridge can be supported by two or more implants. This avoids the need for a single implant for each missing tooth. Again, this approach is typically used when fewer teeth are missing.
At EvoDental, we offer a full arch solution – the entire set of teeth is supported by implants, offering greater function and aesthetics for patients with more extensive tooth loss.
3. Full Mouth Dental Implants (Full Arch Restoration)
This is EvoDental’s area of focus. Full mouth dental implants are used to replace a full set of teeth in the upper or lower jaw using a fixed bridge, supported by implants. We do this in a way that is tailored to each patient, offering three different treatment options:
- EvoEssential™ – Supported by 4 implants, designed to restore critical chewing function and improve quality of life
- EvoAdvanced™ – Includes extra implant support towards the back of the jaw (pterygoid area) and a larger bridge with more teeth
- EvoUltimate™ – Made from zirconia for a premium, lifelike finish and enhanced strength. Often used in more complex or aesthetic cases
Each solution is fixed, non-removable, and custom-designed using our in-house lab for a truly personalised fit.
4. All-on-4 vs All-on-6 Implants
“All-on-4” and “All-on-6” refer to how many implants are placed to support the full arch bridge.
- All-on-4: Four implants are placed, typically two at the front and two angled at the back. This is a widely used method and forms the foundation of our EvoEssential™ treatment.
- All-on-6: Six implants are placed per arch, providing more support, particularly in cases where more teeth are needed or greater stability is required. This forms the basis of our EvoAdvanced™ and EvoUltimate™ treatments.
At EvoDental, we assess each patient carefully to determine which approach offers the best balance of strength, durability, and long-term success.
5. Implant Materials – Titanium vs Zirconia (Bridge Materials)
All of EvoDental’s implants (the part placed in the bone) are made from titanium, a biocompatible, long-lasting material trusted by clinicians around the world.
However, the bridge – the visible teeth – can be made from different materials:
- PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) – A durable, lightweight acrylic used in EvoEssential™ and EvoAdvanced™ treatments. Comfortable and functional.
- Zirconia – Used in EvoUltimate™, zirconia is a ceramic that offers a more natural appearance and exceptional durability. Ideal for patients prioritising aesthetics.

Which Type of Dental Implant Is Right for You?
If you’ve been told that you need dentures, or that dental implants aren’t an option because of bone loss, EvoDental may still be able to help.
Our full mouth implant approach often helps those who:
- Are living with loose or uncomfortable dentures
- Have multiple failing or missing teeth
- Have been told they don’t have enough bone for implants
- Want a fixed, functional, natural-looking set of teeth
We use advanced techniques – including pterygoid implants – that reduce or eliminate the need for bone grafts or sinus lifts in many cases.
